Nike Bauer Selects™   MISSION STATEMENT The Nike Bauer Selects™ program is designed to put elite young hockey players on a career path for USHL Junior A and Major College Hockey. The combination of great players (identified through our extensive scouting network), elite coaching (including many current college coaches), and terrific competition (tournaments outlined below) means that all the NBS players get steered in the direction of their dreams. Nike Bauer Selects™ teams will be fielded at the 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 birth years. What is Nike Bauer Selects™? Nike Bauer Selects™ is an annual spring and summer program that identifies and brings together top players from across the US and Canada to form elite birth year teams. These teams then compete in high level tournaments and spend additional time training with the NBS coaching staff. All NBS teams are coached by elite level coaches, including many current and former Division I college coaches, or former professional players. When does the Nike Bauer Selects™ program begin? The process of identifying players goes on all year, and the teams are assembled and outfitted in the spring to compete in top tournaments in April, May and June. The tournaments are followed up in late June/early July with the NBS College Coaches Weekend (that features an informative open Q&A forum with the coaches and parents) and the NBS Residence Camp (an intensive week-long training camp held in Lake Forest, Illinois). How does a player get to compete for the Nike Bauer Selects™? Players chosen to take part in Nike Bauer Selects™ are identified and evaluated during the season by the NBS scouting staff and coaches. Players are then invited by the coaches to take part in the program. Often players who believe they have what it takes to make a NBS team initiate contact by visiting our website (www.nikebauerselects.com) and sending an email to the coach at their level.
